Helmet Size Guide

A helmet only protects you properly when it fits. Take two minutes to measure before you order.

How to measure your head

  1. Use a soft measuring tape. No tape? Use a piece of string, then measure the string with a ruler.
  2. Wrap it around the widest part of your head, about one inch above your eyebrows and just above your ears.
  3. Keep the tape level all the way round and comfortably snug.
  4. Measure two or three times and use the largest reading.

Match your measurement to the chart

Sizing differs between helmet models, so always use the size chart shown on the product page of the helmet you want. Don't assume your size in one helmet is your size in another.

How a helmet should feel

  • Snug all the way around, with the cheek pads touching your cheeks.
  • No pressure points or hot spots on your forehead.
  • With the strap fastened, the helmet should not roll forward off your head or twist freely side to side.
  • New helmets loosen slightly as the padding beds in, so a firm fit is normal.
